Letterpress wedding invitations and greeting cards from Smock have been spotted in some amazing places lately, and today we’re excited to share the features that Smock has been a part of this fall! For their Fall 2012 issue, Inside Weddings magazine included a custom wedding invitation set from Smock that featured a letterpress sleeve and combined two of our most popular designs: our floral Rhon design paired with elements from our more modern Dawson design.
Brides magazine featured one of our new, foil stamped wedding invitation designs and matching invitation sleeve — our whimsical Tatra customization — as part of their November issue.
Coastal Living included several of our products in their October 2012 issue as part of their “8 Steps to a Stress-Free Work Zone” feature. Our Bicyclette and Chatham scratchpads ($7 each) and our Breakers notebook ($9 each) are perfect reasons to take a break from technology to write down notes the old-fashioned way.
Stationery Trends magazine featured one of our new holiday cards as part of their Fall 2012 issue — our Joyeux Noel card (which features letterpress and gold foil stamping) was included in a piece all about gold.

As the crisp weather of fall starts to settle in, we can’t help but daydream about warm summer days and fabulous paper parties. Earlier this year, a few members of the Smock team headed out to Los Angeles for the second Urbanic Summer Social, and the event was a smashing success! Guests enjoyed sweet treats from Snow Con Amor, and freshly popped popcorn was served up in festive cones made from our double-sided gift wrap! A DIY Smock postcard station was enjoyed by all, and Danielle and Kevin from The Why We Love were there to capture some amazing photographs of the event. Big thanks to Audrey and the team at Urbanic for hosting!

We’re proud to introduce our new Sunflower calendars as the latest installment in our Change the World letterpress series! These limited edition 8×10 art print calendars are letterpress printed on our ultra thick 2-ply bamboo paper and are on sale for $10 each, and 100% of profits from the calendars will be donated to the Pesticide Action Network (PAN). The calendars celebrate the nonprofit’s 30th anniversary and proceeds will help PAN in their efforts to replace the use of hazardous pesticides with ecologically sound and socially just alternatives. Happy birthday, PAN!

Rock Paper Scissors in Ann Arbor, Michigan and features some amazing birthday party invitations that were made with our nautical
lettersheets!At Rock Paper Scissors, we get REALLY excited about celebrations. We love everything about them: from the paper, to the place settings, to the details (and even the gift wrapping!). We also have a huge obsession with all things nautical. So this month, when Rock Paper Scissors teammate and craft aficionado, Coco, turned 21 and set sail to create the PERFECT nautical 21st birthday party—we went overboard with excitement! She chose the Oxford, Ridley and Anchor patterned Smock lettersheets with beautiful blue and nautical prints on the back and rope and anchor watermark details on the front that went perfectly with the nautical theme of her 21st birthday dinner!
Here’s how she did it:
- Using a fine tip blue marker, she wrote out the details of the event in fun styles on plain computer paper.
- She then scanned her design and used Photoshop to scale it to the proper size.
- After adjusting her computer’s printer settings to accommodate the size of the stationery, she simply fed the stationery sheets into her printer to create perfectly printed, customized invitations.
- To complete the look, she dolled up the envelopes with rubber stamps in nautical designs and bedecked them with the addresses of her hopeful attendees.
- Dropped them in the {SNAIL} mail and waited for her guest’s reactions!
The party itself was decked out in Smock goodies—from the birthday present from her parents (using Smock’s double-sided Oxford gift wrap) and the cupcake liners (also using the gift wrap), Courtney’s party sent us sailing! We love this custom, hand-lettered invite and party details and can’t wait for the next opportunity to celebrate EVERYTHING with creative paper goods!
